Craig David Awl Over Your Face
While I wasn't quite down enough (clown enough?) to be into proper UK garage when it was first popular, This is one of the earliest 2-step/garage hybrid tracks I can remember falling in love with. I revisited it yesterday and it still holds weight nearly 10 years after it was produced:
It's a shame Manitoba (aka Caribou) abandoned this style for the indie-pop-electronica sound he holds down today, but I guess we all can't 2-step for life.... like Craig David

sbtrkt
i can't seem to get enough of this future-garage crap coming out of the uk...guess it's because all the garage i heard back in the day sounded like "shite" at the time. and it probably was shite, but just like all the other shite genres that have been recycled into the british breakbeat continuum and spit out the other side mutated into something worthwhile, garage is finally on my radar, and it is irresistible.
