teabagged!

i don't think the title "tea party" is very fitting, though. the central reason for the original boston tea party was that the colonists believed that the "tea act" (essentially an import/export tariff)violated their constitutional right to be taxed only by their own elected representatives.

the participants in the current incarnation of the tea party claimed it as a protest to higher taxation. first of all, none of these dumbass mullet-heads makes enough money to have their taxes increased at this point in time. the line for tax increases is about $250k/year, in case you didn't get the memo on that about 1,089,889 times since last november.

so let's run down the list of valid grievances one might have with taxation:

taxation without representation? nope.

disproportionately high taxes? maybe, but only on the wealthy. they finagle their way out of it with loopholes though, so this one doesn't count.

tax dollars contributing to pointless and corrupt endeavours? absolutlely! i HATE the idea of a bailout as much as any republican asshole. but i know it is necessary to avoid throwing us into a post-apocalyptic mad-max tribal lifestyle. not that i wouldn't want to roam the ruined suburbs and eat marmot and live in a house made of old tires....

another thing on that note....funny that since this whole recession bidness started, wal-mart and mcdonald's are a few of the only large companies to post consistent growth. think they are not tied into the bailout? think their ownership doesn't have all of their fat dirty fingers in the wall street shit cake? wanna sock it to the corrupt fatcats who hold your poor alcohlic redneck ass down in the lower dregs of the middle class? stop eating at mc donald's and shopping at wal-mart you dumb fucks!

i also heard a lot of right wing am radio (i listen to it while i drive the truck at work) freaks tying this into a pro-life argument. sorry, but last time i checked, fetuses aren't legal citizens yet, and can't/won't pay taxes. they don't even have a social security number! goddamn fetuses leeching off our system trying to destroy my american dream!
